ABOUT GREG

Greg Wood is an entertaining trainer and speaker with over 25 years of experience in teaching and speaking about drug and alcohol abuse, prevention and recovery. In 1992 he combined this experience with his talents as an illusionist to create programs specializing in areas such as:

  • Leadership
  • Self-Esteem
  • Kindness
  • Drug abuse prevention
  • Stranger danger
  • The magic of teamwork
  • Anti-bully/empathy presentations

Greg recently earned the Accredited Speaker designation – the prestigious designation recognizing excellence in professional-level public speaking skills and subject matter expertise awarded by Toastmasters International.  He is the first member in Manitoba to earn this designation and only the 11th in Canada.  Only 89 have earned this award since its inception in 1981.

In 2020 Greg became a Certified Virtual Presenter to insure his audiences of high-quality virtual presentations.

Greg’s extraordinary ability to blend his unique talents and experiences into a school presentation makes him a refreshing, substantive, and valuable resource for schools and educators. He has performed his assembly programs in schools across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut, North Dakota, and Northwestern Ontario. He has also performed school shows in Kowloon, Hong Kong, Mexico, India Fiji, Belize, and Brazil. Since 1990 he has entertained thousands with his comedy and magic at festivals, trade shows, and corporate events. He is a three-time winner of Winnipeg’s “Best of Variety Act” and has twice won Manitoba’s “Close Up Conjuror’s” Award. His act was chosen to represent Central Canada at the Vancouver Street Fair and to represent Manitoba at the Pan-Am Games in Winnipeg. He has had some of his unique effects published and has had the opportunity to lecture in front of his peers, including those in England and India.
